If a caller is calling from the US to the US call.ani usually would be tel: +1 (10 digits). What is the value of call.ani if calling from another country to the US. And, what is the value of call.ani if the caller is blocking their ANI or the ANI is not known? Anyone encounter this yet?

You might find help here: https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/about-the-phone-number-data-type/.  This article explains how to get components of a phone number, including the ability to detect a sip/sips caller. The type will help you determine if it's a phone number or not, and give you access to the dialing code and subsequent subscriber number. I'll see if I can find more information for you.
