I am curious to know what some of you had for prior WFM configurations and what the deciding factor(s) was(were) for moving from that provider to Genesys WFM. Please include the name of the previous product you used if that is acceptable in this venue. Thanks.

Hiya James, since I moved employers, I now use Genesys Cloud.

Before I used Aspect, Verint, and IEX. For WFM I liked Aspect the very most, nothing compares. But for IVR/Telephony/Routing we preferred Genesys Products.

James,   I think you're looking mostly for input from other customers here, but since my team and I spend a lot of time with customers and analyzing the competition we might be able to provide a some helpful input.   I won't list all the virtues of Genesys Cloud WFM here, but I'll highlight a few of the areas we see as more influencial in customers decision making.

The approach we've taken to building Genesys Cloud WFM is unique with real benefits to our cusotmers.   Most other offerings are legacy architectures  ported into a cloud data center and integrated form a suite offering.   Genesys Cloud WFM stands out because it's cloud-native and built directly into the Genesys Cloud platform.  By running on the same unified architecture as the rest of Genesys Cloud we're able reduce complexity, minimize integrations, and accelerate time to value.   And because it's truly cloud-native, Genesys can deliver new capabilities faster with less disruptions:  There no maintenance windows, features are released throughout the year and adopted only when you're ready, and 100+ new WEM capabilities were delivered last year.   Our AI capabilties also benefit from this architecture with better access to a broader set of data and core functions enabling us to deliver more impactful AI capabilties.

At a practical functional level we offer a comprehensive set of WFM capabilties in a single offering that are designed for usability.  To cite just a few examples:  Capabilities that might be 'add ons' in other offerings, like Capacity Planning, are native modules in Genesys Cloud and included in the WFM license.    Our AI-powered forecasting is based a sophisticated collection of algorithms with automated training and selection of the alogrithm (or algorithms) that provide the best fit for your data.   Features that engage and empower front-line employees like shift trading, time-off, and mobile access can have a real impact on the employee experience with resulting improvements in retention and schedule adherence.

And finally, I'll note that a lot of customers appreciate the level of investment we've made and are continuing to make in the WFM offering.  We increased investment in WFM in 2025 and are seeing steady growth in both the number customers using Genesys for WFM and depth of usage.  After a strong year of innovation in WFM last year, we're expecting to see the same pace of delivery in 2026 to ensure we're turning the innovative ideas from the Genesys teams, customers, and partners into usable products.

With other employers, I have used Verint and Nice/IEX.  I have not been the decision-maker in choosing Genesys in my current role.  Of the three, Nice/IEX was my favorite for features, forecasting, and scheduling flexibility.  While Genesys has made some enhancements and added features, the roadmap is way too long, and development is slow (I waited three years for capacity planning).  While moving in the right direction, Genesys is just not agile enough in adapting to a fast-moving real-time environment.
