Is there any recommended order to do the certifications. I have the voucher for the GC Certified Professional Exam but I think the Architect exam is more relevent but wasn't able to select it for the voucher.

    Hi Kyle

I'm not aware of any official order or recommendation but I had the following approach.

    1. Professional Certification
    2. Architect Certification
    3. Outbound Certification
    4. AI - Digital Bots & Knowledge Certification

Starting with CX Professional gave me a good understanding of the platform overall and how it works. Architect was then next on my list to start with very basic call flows.  Some of the topics in Architect was easier for me to understand as it was already covered during the professional course.  Obviously not in details but just for some understanding.  Had similar experience when I started with Outbound as well, due to some of the topics being covered briefly.

I would recommend CX Professional and then Architect.
The main question is if you want to focus on a specific topic, or if you want to get as many certifications as possible.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards

    Hi Kyle,

My approach currently is to complete the Genesys Cloud Certified Professional certification first which I just completed , as it provides a solid overall understanding and foundation across the Genesys ecosystem.

From there, I'm planning to move into the specialist certifications that align more closely with the areas I work with day-to-day, with Architect being the next one I'm targeting.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Kyle,

In my case, I started with Genesys Cloud CX Professional  and Genesys Cloud CX Developer first, and I feel that this gave me a very good foundation before moving into more specific areas.

These certifications helped me understand the broader Genesys Cloud platform, contact center concepts, administration, routing, users, permissions, queues, reporting, and the general structure of the solution.

After that, studying Architect or other specialist certifications becomes easier because you already understand many of the platform concepts that support the implementation.

So, from my experience, starting with the broader certifications first can be a good path, especially if you want to build a solid base before focusing on a specific area.

    Hello, @Kyle Ong

My roadmap is grouped by topic:

    • GC Professional and GC Developer (fundamentals and share study guide content)
    • Architect and AI - Digital Bots & Knowledge Certification (you need some architect knowledge for AI. Not a prerequisite, but it can help you)
    • Scripting and outbound (not similar but easy topics for me)
    • AI - GPE & GPR Certification
    • Quality
    • WFM

WFM is the most complicated for me, so I'll make this the last option.

I follow almost the same order. The advantage of starting with the Professional level is that the Architect exam includes questions related to it, so it works as a solid foundation.

Yes - Genesys Cloud certifications don't have a single mandatory sequence, but there is a widely recommended progression based on how the platform builds knowledge. Following a structured path.

✅ Recommended Genesys Cloud Certification Order
    1. Genesys Cloud Certified Associate (GCCA)
    2. Genesys Cloud Certified Professional (GCCP)
    3. Choose a Specialization Track (depending on your role)
After GCCP, you branch into role-based learning:
    a. Developer Certification
    b. Integration Certification
☎️ Contact Center / Architect Path
If you focus on routing and flows:
    a. Architect Certification
    b. Routing Certification
    🛠 Admin / Operations Path
    If you're managing the platform:
    a. Administrator Certification
    b. Workforce Engagement (WEM)

Thanks for all the responses everyone. I'm going to follow what looks like the normal learning progressing path starting with the professional certification and architect then expanding from there.  Appreciate the guidance.

Keep in mind not to complete them too fast...or you'll have to resit them all at the same time in 2 years! ;-)

I always recommend based on professional experience to start GCP, GCD and then go for specialist training.

For me GCP is the best place to start, as that gives you the fundamentals allowing you to proceed more easily.
