  • 1.  Rate limit reached, way too often

    Hi! 

    Our organization has been running in to the error message regarding rate limit reached, please wait and try again, more and more the last few weeks.

    When reaching out to support, we are only met with the answer that this is a hardcoded limit, and they can't do anything. 
    Have yet to get a response to if the issue is with our own apps or if it is the Genesys modules causing the issue. 
    Has anyone else had this issue and found a workaround? or is this just how it is?

    It looks like these requests might be hitting the Conversations Workspace endpoints - specifically the analytics-related queries.

    Most Genesys Cloud endpoints have a limit of 300 requests per token per minute, so this kind of error usually happens when there are continuous or automated refresh calls being made from the front end or background processes.

    Could you share a bit more detail about how these requests are being triggered? From what you described, it sounds like there may be a polling or refresh loop that's consuming the available rate limit quickly.

    My suggestion, and something many companies would like to see, is for Genesys to provide a solution to monitor "Rate Limit" metrics in the same way other large-scale platforms already do. Transparency in managing these limits is just as important as the platform's functionality.

    Implementing reports and control panels for these limits wouldn't just be an improvement; it's a critical need to ensure that customer operations remain stable and predictable, avoiding the disruptions and negative impacts caused by a lack of visibility.

    I have also noticed an increase in these UI API request limit errors lately, usually just after I log in and almost always when navigating to the Performance Workspace. Being a seasoned admin I generally log in and navigate fairly quickly through the menus but I've had to slow that whole process down significantly to reduce the likelihood of experiencing errors.

    Lately I have been logging in and leaving it for about a minute at the admin menu before opening up anything else. That was working ok but in the last few weeks it's still displaying errors after waiting for a minute after login, and I've made sure there were no tabs left open in the performance workspace from a previous session.

    These errors are being triggered simply by opening the performance view, or interactions lists. 

    Very similar to how Adam Long described his issue, this has not been as prevalent earlier, but the last few weeks we have been seeing a large increase.

    My agents started getting these errors recently..... Rate Limit Exceeded. Tooo many requests, please try again in xx seconds. They are telling me that the system is delivering them their allotted 3 emails, and then if a queued voice interaction comes in it throws that error. We have been running with agent utilization like this for years and this error recently started happening. 

    I got the same erorr message while navigating in the Admin portal, not even taking any interactions. Anyone have any ideas besides deleteing the cache folder and re-installing the software? That doesn't fix it by the way. Thanks!
