    Hi Everyone,

Back in October 19, 2022 it was announces that Genesys Cloud's public-facing cloud media services are expanding Genesys's pool of public IP addresses. This expansion increases the existing CIDR range that was put in place in April 2021.

These new addresses supplement existing regions and cover future growth into new regions. In addition to a new CIDR IP address range for generally available Core and Satellite regions, there is also a new CIDR IP address range specifically for the FedRAMP region (US-East 2 (Ohio)).

    • The new range of IP addresses for generally available Core and Satellite regions is 169.150.104.0/21. (This new range builds on the current range at 52.129.96.0/20 that went into effect in April 2021.)

    • The new range of IP addresses for the FedRAMP region is 164.152.64.0/22

Customers using firewall policies to restrict outbound connections from Genesys Cloud clients, phones, and Edge devices may be affected. Network administrators can view detailed information on affected services, address, and ports, and perform the self-readiness checks provided through this link: https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/cidr-ip-address-range-for-cloud-media-services/

There is a readiness check on the link above which confirms whether you are ready to use the CIDR block of IP addresses or need to make further adjustments to your firewall settings.

The said readiness tests also provide information on Genesys Cloud services that will be affected by the addition of the CIDR IP address block.

IMPORTANT NOTE: the tests outlined on the readiness check  are for guidance purposes only and are intended for a network and firewall experts.
It is important to understand that Genesys is asking you to add the CIDR block of IP addresses to your existing firewall allowlist. You do not need to remove access to current addresses. You must allow the full CIDR block of IP addresses.

The CIDR Range expansion takes effect on February 15, 2023

Please, please, please tell your firewall teams and/or customers to add this new CIDR block now.  There is no security risk and you will not be down when that CIDR block begins to be used in February!  This has been announced since last August or September, so it should be no surprise to anyone, but you know there will still be calls to support on 2/15 and since that is my birthday, I don't want to field those calls!
