Yes, it can be done. I think the main rub here is that there was a really easy interface to accomplish this before and we had the iCal Rule sort of hidden for the advanced users. Now we expect advanced programming to accomplish the same thing that was a novice user before.

Hi Robert / Michael,
Thank you for your feedback -- I'm adding @Alan Lanteigne to help review and comment. Could you confirm you were able to achieve the business output in the meantime? In parallel, will review if opportunity to improve the time to configure with the team. Thx again!

I agree that iCal Rule is good for doing fancy stuff however before you could do either and Schedules are meant to be administered by users (Customers) and iCal Rules or RCF 5455 are just not as user friendly as the old interface.

I can see what you mean, but you can see that the iCal Rule is the button in the upper-right. Now it is part of the the custom settings - easier to get to and understand. @Chad Hansen, do you have any insight into the change and if there is actually loss of functionality or just a repositioning of them? I myself always used iCal Rule to do the fancy stuff.

Hi Robert,
Here's a screen shot of old UI... with "remove conditional rule" and with "add conditional rule". You can also see the "iCal Rule" up in the top right and that's were you could add the iCal Rule which is similar to the RCF 5455.
Now you just have custom with the RFC 5455.
Do you see what I mean that the new UI has lost this functionality?

Do you have a shot of the old one? I find this custom RFC 5545 entry very useful. The other ones allow for just about any variation of the occurrence, but if not, there is this one to allow you to do it programmatically. What is it you are missing that you could do before?

Hi All.
I just noticed the resent changes to schedules has removed the UI for custom occurrences.
Before there was a UI that allowed you to choose the custom occurrences but now you need to create it in RFC 5545 format.
Also, if it was configured before with the nice UI and you want to read the schedule it now shows up as a custom occurrence in RFC 5545 format.
For example, a schedule your New Years Day if you had a rule that will only be active if it was the 2nd Jan on a Monday you see the below:

Why was this UI changed... the old one was quite clear and straight forward to configure and understand?
