I have a question about the Base Line settings for the softphones. ​Under the Signaling section, we have SIP Servers Or Proxies, by default, I use the Edge. 

But in case of putting the IP Adress of the SBC behaving as a Proxy, Would the Internal Calls between softphones go through the SBCs first and then routed to the Edges ?

If you enter the SBC's IUP Address as the Proxy, then all SIP communication from the phone will be sent to the SBC. The SBC will then proxy for the phone for all SIP communication (INVITE, REGISTER, etc.) for calls from the Softphone.

For calls going to the Softphone, it all depends on the settings on the device originating the call as to where those SIP messages are sent.

In your experience, this setting is done via the other models of SBC? So that the SBC knows which softphone it should route the call, it is necessary to declare the softphone numbers in the SBCs ?

It sounds like perhaps you are not familiar with the functionality expected from and provided by a SIP Proxy?

The SBC has to function as a SIP Proxy per RFC 3261 section 16 to proxy communications between the Softphone and the Edge.

I'm trying to understand the concept.

If we set the SBC as a proxy server, from a signaling point of view, I was thinking that the softphone will reach first the SBC proxy server (that we set in base line settings), then SBC will route the signaling messages to the Edge, the Edge will notify the softphone directly.

Correct me please if I'm wrong
