We're pleased to announce a new security enhancement for the Genesys Tempo mobile app that allows users to access Tempo securely, even when IP Address restrictions are enabled in Genesys Cloud. This feature addresses the need for customers to enable access to the Tempo mobile app while preventing employees from signing in to Genesys Cloud through a mobile browser.
Organizations often use IP Whitelisting to restrict access to Genesys Cloud, ensuring that agents can only connect from trusted locations. While this control is important for protecting customer and organizational data, it previously meant that users could not access Tempo from their mobile devices when IP restrictions were in place.
With this new enhancement, Tempo is now exempt from IP address restrictions, so that users can still log in and manage their schedules. At the same time, direct browser logins from those devices will remain restricted.
This change provides greater flexibility for organizations that rely on remote or hybrid work models, as well as BYOD environments for mobile. Ensuring users can access their schedule on the go while still adhering to security and compliance regulations.
There are no UI changes associated with this update, and no configuration is required beyond maintaining your current settings. The system will automatically recognize and allow Tempo connections through a unique identifier for the application, while continuing to enforce all other IP-based restrictions. If your organization would like to prevent their employees from logging into Tempo, you can use the permission: Mobile > Tempo > View.
