Genesys Cloud - Main

While building this community, we tried out this ideas component -https://appexchange.salesforce.com/listingDetail?listingId=a0N3A00000E9l50UAB - but it didn't work very well in our sandbox.  Since then, we've noticed several other things that are wonky in the sandbox but that work fine in this production site.  So I'm thinking about revisiting the ideas component.

What are your initial thoughts? Pros, cons, red flags, etc??

I like the idea (ha ha) of an "Ideas and Feedback tab." My initial question is how would that be different from the "Submit Feedback & Ideas" link in the help panel that's already in the application?

Currently, the "Submit Feedback & Ideas" link is only viewable to internal users. We were hoping for this "Ideas and Feedback" section to be a first step in gathering customer/partner opinions.

Thinking more deeply about it, the question really becomes is the concept of "voting" for an idea different enough from "liking" a post to make it worth having a separate component for Ideas and Feedback?

Yeah, I agree that voting is different than liking. To me, likes on social platforms are a form of thanks or kudos for a post. It's sort of becoming a social convention, to the point that on some platforms, it's considered impolite to NOT like someone's comment on your post. A "vote" seems like a stronger endorsement of an idea.
