  • 1.  Time Off Limits not being honored

    Hello, 

    I'm hoping for some help in understanding what we may need to tweak to solve a problem. 

    We've opened up time off limits for 2026 today and we are finding that agents are able to select dates where there is no available time off limit remaining, and the system is auto approving it. 

    Here's an example 


    You can see that on Feb 16 there are 20 hours approved, though only 10 were available. We also used to see a negative remaining balance when this happened, which we are not seeing today. 


    We have selected the option to count requested time off against time off limits. 

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Meaghan,

    Are you able to check what time-off code is being auto approved? and then in Plan Overview in Time-Off Plans check that the code is included in "Associated Activity Codes"

    Hi Meghan, 

    If you wish for your time-off to honour the time-off limits you will need to select Conditional Approval. 

    • Manual Approval. Select this option to to indicate that the auto-approval rule never applies to time-off requests that use the selected activity codes. Choosing this option requires you to approve time-off requests associated to the selected activity codes manually.
    • Auto Approval. Select this option to indicate that the auto-approval rule always applies to time-off requests that use the selected activity codes. Choosing this option causes the system to auto-approve all time-off requests, even when they exceed the remaining time-off limit on the requested time-off dates.
    • Conditional Approval. Select this option to apply the auto-approval rule to time-off requests according to the time-off limit. The following additional fields are enabled. 

    The set up that you are showing is something that we have for our US based agents for PTO, but for standard Vacation or annual leave you would want to select Conditional Approval.
