Subject: Tips for the Genesys Cloud Developer Certification
Hello Maria Carvalho,
I have started preparing for the certification and created the following study plan:
- Read the official certification guide.
- Study the documentation for the main Genesys Cloud services.
- Perform hands-on practice in a Developer Organization (Developer Org).
- Review the topics I find most challenging.
- Complete practice exams, if available.
In addition, I am focusing on the following areas:
- Understanding the Genesys Cloud architecture and how the main services interact, such as Users, Conversations, Routing, Analytics, Architect, OAuth, and Notifications.
- Studying the Platform API in depth, including OAuth authentication, REST APIs, pagination, filtering, rate limits, error handling, and webhooks/notifications.
- Practicing with the API Explorer by making real API calls to create users, query queues, retrieve conversations, and analyze API responses.
- Learning the available SDKs. Although the certification does not require extensive coding, it is important to understand how the SDKs (JavaScript, Java, Python, C#, and others) simplify API interactions.
- Studying OAuth carefully, as it is one of the most important topics. I am learning the differences between the Client Credentials and Authorization Code grant types and when each should be used.
- Understanding real-time events and the difference between retrieving data through the REST API and receiving events through the Notifications API.
- Reviewing Architect to understand how flows integrate with Data Actions, APIs, and external services.
