    Hi Community, 

    I'm happy to share that we are about to update the agent workspace messaging component with a brand-new UI. 

    The component will:

    ·         Look fresher, and more user friendly,
    ·         Have feature parity with the current tool,

    ·         Deliver fixes and improvements such as:

    ·         Dedicated send button,
    ·         Message grouping,
    ·         Message bubble actions (copy, resend),
    ·         Delivery status check marks to indicate if the message is sent, received, or read,
    ·         'New message' button that on click scrolls down. No more automatic jumping to new messages,
    ·         Character counter,
    ·         Attach files from clipboard,
    ·         Visual feedback for drag & drop attachments,
    ·         Ability to send multiple files.
    ·         Improved and unified alerting, error handling and message status,
    ·         Updated reply box with more space for longer messages,
    ·         Updated emoji panel,

    We are currently planning to launch beta testing during the end of March or beginning of April. As we approach the launch date, additional training material and views will be available.

    Máté,

    This all sounds very interesting and possibly daunting for agents to get used to.  Do you have some videos or screen shots to share?  I trust you will have a long beta so we can get new training materials together?   Why are we not seeing this UI change on the upcoming change list:  User interface and user experience announcements - Genesys Cloud Resource Center (mypurecloud.com)

    Hi Robert,
    Thanks for the questions.

    This post is an early heads-up for the community readers scheduled before the resource center post. I believe that will also come very soon.
    And after that announcement I will open up the beta registration. Alongside the post for beta registration I will share a pdf with before and after screenshots.
    The beta is planned to be open for 4 to 6 weeks.

    Thank you.  Heads up is fine, but the community at large does get kind of anxious when you say "upcoming UI change" as we have been stung so many times before with the Thursday morning "I never saw that before" or "Where did my button go?" scenarios.

    Hi Carlos,

    The new messaging UI will show the seconds in the timestamps of the message bubbles. We are introducing a bubble grouping feature which saves vertical space. By default agents will see the timestamp of the last bubble in the group. However on click they will be able to get the same information for each and every message withing groups as well.
