Beginning the week of September 7, 2026, example phrases will no longer be displayed in Dictionary Management for English, Spanish, and French language variants powered by Genesys Native Transcription.
For these dialects, Genesys relies on a new variant of Native Transcription which uses newer underlying technology that can recognize and apply a dictionary term without needing example sentences to explain how the term might be used. As a result, example phrases are not used when processing these languages and do not influence their transcription results.
This is a simplification made possible by the newer underlying technology, allowing customers to continue to customize transcription using dictionary terms, without the overhead of creating or maintaining example phrases for these languages.
What this means
- Your dictionary terms will continue to be used as they are today.
- Previously configured example phrases for these dialects will no longer be visible in the UI beginning September 7.
- Removing the phrases from the UI will not change transcription results, because they are not used by Enhanced Native Transcription today.
- Existing example phrases will be permanently deleted on a future date that will be announced
- This change applies only to English, Spanish, and French language variants using Genesys Native Transcription. Dictionary management for other languages is not changing at this time.
We recognize that customers have invested time in creating and maintaining these phrases. Although the newer transcription technology no longer requires them, you may wish to save a copy for your own records before September 7, when they will no longer be accessible through the UI.
No changes are needed to your dictionary terms. They will remain in place and continue to support transcription as they do today.
