As part of on going enhancements to Learning modules within Genesys Cloud we wanted to provide some advanced notice to some changes in the user interface.
What is changing?
Currently development and feedback modules have the following types:
Learning
Learning with Assessment
Assessment
External
We are making changes to simply these development types into two types:
Native
External
Why is it changing?
Our conversations with customers have indicated you would prefer more interoperability between the learning types. Having to choose to define a module as with or without an assessment locks that learning experience into a particular content path. This change will allow you to modify your learning as you see fit, without requiring you to create a new module just because the original type no longer fits your needs.
We have also heard the feedback that you would like to be able to mix content and assessments together as a blended module. Rather than front loading content and then having a single assessment we are looking to offer the ability to interlace content and assessments. Simplifying the module types is a first step in enabling us to bring that change in the future.
How will the changes affect me?
Firstly, when clicking "New Module" in Development and Feedback you will no longer be prompted to provide a type. All modules created via the UI in Genesys Cloud will now be of type "Native". Modules linked from an external LMS will have the type "External".
The filter options within Development and Feedback have been updated to reflect this:
Inside of the Workspace there are changes to the available filters. If you had a previously selected filter or saved view these will be rolled up into a singular type: Learning.
I.e. in the current view you may have filters such as:
After the incoming changes these will be rolled up to appear as follows:
If you have any scheduled exports you can expect to see the changes also propagate there. You won't need to make any changes for the exports to work but their output will look slightly different.
I.e. an Export for "Learning with Assessment" prior to the change will now output as "Learning".
When is this change coming?
We are targeting December 2024 for these changes. We are communicating this now to promote awareness, our intent is to allow you to continue reporting on your learning without interruption.
