Hi Mike,
I completely agree with this observation.
AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini can be very helpful during certification preparation, especially for:
- Generating study plans
- Summarizing documentation
- Creating practice questions
- Explaining concepts in different ways
- Building real-world implementation scenarios
However, I would never treat any AI-generated answer as the source of truth for a Genesys certification exam.
My personal rule is:
Official eBooks → Resource Center documentation → Hands-on testing in Genesys Cloud → AI for reinforcement and discussion.
The challenge is that AI models are trained on a mixture of information from different points in time, while Genesys Cloud continuously evolves. Features, user interfaces, configuration options, and best practices can change, which means an AI response may sound convincing while still being partially incorrect or outdated.
What has worked best for me is using AI to help me identify knowledge gaps, then validating everything against the official Genesys documentation and, whenever possible, testing it directly in a Genesys Cloud environment.
In fact, some of the most valuable learning moments happen when AI gives an answer that seems reasonable but turns out to be incorrect. The process of verifying why it is wrong often deepens your understanding of the product more than simply reading the correct answer.
My advice to anyone preparing for a Genesys certification:
Trust the official certification eBook and Resource Center first. Use AI as a study assistant, not as the final authority.
If AI, documentation, and your own testing all reach the same conclusion, you can be much more confident that you've learned the topic correctly.
Thanks for sharing this. It's a good reminder that verification and hands-on experience are still essential, especially for certification success.
Thanks,
