  • 1.  Virtual Edge backup and restore - Is this possible?

    Hi,

    Is it possible to backup and restore a Virtual Edge?  It would be very helpful if there is a way to do this, would lessen the time to replace a Host machine in case it bugs down or needs to be refreshed (HW EOL).

    Not sure what you would need to back up.  You can easily remove the old and pair the new one.  All configuration is in the cloud and software is updated automatically.  Am I missing something?

    It was just a question from a client.  We did told them that there's no data / configuration within the Virtual Edge they need other than the IP address.  I noticed that you would put the same (if not more) effort in restoring the Virtual Edge's VM rather than installing it from scratch.  Thanks for your reply Robert.

    I believe you will need to go through just about the same pairing process whether you restore or load the image from scratch.
