    Hi there,

    Today, when looking at a user's profile, I noticed there was now an option to enable voicemails that, by default, was set to off.

    I have not seen any mention in the release notes of an option to enable voicemails other than assigning the correct permission.

    Wondering what this is, if anyone else is seeing it and what effect it has.

    I'll attach a picture of what I see.

    That option was added in 2014. I know the display/how it looks has changed off and on over the years, but that check box has been there for a long time.

    What you screenshotted is the latest iteration of how PureCloud displays whether or not the box is checked when in Edit mode on a user's profile.

    George,
    I have the same question about that "Voicemail Enabled?" check box. 
    Does that have to be checked in order for a user to actually have and be able to use voicemail? Or is it something that is supposed to appear as checked when the user has that Permission in one of their Role memberships? 
    I've got a customer we just setup and noticed this checkbox. We have given their users in the "Communicate - User" role the "Voicemail > Receive" permission, and voicemail does seem to be working for them, but they don't have this box checked. 
    I don't understand the function or requirements for this checkbox.

    Yes, it's supposed to require that the box be checked for a user to have their voicemail active (to be able to receive and access voicemail with their own mailbox).

    That said, I am not seeing any effect when I uncheck that box (changing the "Voicemail Enabled?" display to "No").

    This is being investigated as a bug, so if you haven't opened a case you might want to so you can get added to the ServOps issue and receive information when it is fixed.

    The word from Dev is "...the Voicemail Enabled notification on the user profile is irrelevant. It doesn't do anything at this point and is going to be removed."

    So, control whether or not a user has voicemail via Permissions assigned to a Role.
