    Hi Community Friends, 
    We need to update the welcome message that appears in our chats.  I asked our web developer to update it, and he said it is passed through from PureCloud and that he can't change it.  I've spent about an hour looking in the Resource Center, the community, and in the Admin section, but I can't find how to update that welcome message.  Does anyone know?

    It is in the Web Chat documentation on developer.mypurecloud.com. The welcome message is one of the variables that can be set in the chatConfig object on the web page the chat is initiated from:

    https://developer.mypurecloud.com/api/webchat/

    4. To set properties for the chat session, add variables within the chatConfig object. For more information, see below Chat variables.
    ...
    welcomeMessage-The message displayed to users when opening a chat. Example: 'Please wait while we connect you to one of our agents.'

    Hi George, 
    Thanks for the info and help.  We were finally able to get chat welcome message updated yesterday.
    I saw that article when I was looking, but I thought it was for the web only version of chat that was deprecated in December.  Turns out, the article was just what we needed!
