    Rise and shine community! 

    We are about to cross another milestone off of our "Garfield" calendars and enter the last quarter of 2025. Today, we are here to ask the important question: 

    What are you most looking forward to in Q3?

    From last-minute vacations to a change in the weather, the start of the school year, the dawning of a new sports/holiday season, and the opening reception of Xperience, there is a ton of great stuff to look forward to, but what are you counting down the days to?

    For me, at the Community HQ in Durham, NC, we have been blasted with high heat and even higher humidity for far too long! I am absolutely looking forward to my electricity bill taking a nosedive as the windows fly open and the big blankets get pulled out of hibernation, but I would be lying if I did not say that I am most looking forward to Halloween! 

    It is always my favorite holiday of the year, and I want some tacky ghosts, delicious candy, and creepy movies haunting the nooks and crannies of my gothic-chique dwelling ASAP!

    Fall sports - Friday Night Lights, college and NFL. Women's volleyball season 💞.  All with my favorite fall flavor 🎃 spice and hanging with friends at the 🔥 pit.

    Honestly, I am most looking forward to leaving work on December 24th at noon and not returning until January 3rd. I have had a long, challenging year and really just want to sit under my Christmas tree (literally) and look up at the lights.

    October as a whole. There's so much to look forward too! I love decorating for Halloween and have a new Simpsons mini-Funko pop Halloween calendar to break out this year. Pumpkin and apple foods. Sweatshirt weather. Oktoberfest beverages. My kids' new school has a fall break that coincides with their birthdays, so we're going to take a weekend mini-vacation.

    After going out to Indiana to visit my in-laws the first few times, I was shocked to learn that Indiana had any skiing at all. Always figured you had to go out of state.

    This quarter is the end of our fiscal year and we are hoping to test and pilot some Copilot functions to help our advocates serve survivors more efficiently in FY26. But even more important is the return of college football.  Go Boise State!

    In South America, we are very fond of soccer, and the last two qualifying rounds are approaching to determine which countries qualify for the 2026 World Cup. That excites me for this Q3.

    My wife is from Indiana and was always floored that here in the Northeast school goes back so late in the summer. I'm always mad that they go in for two days, have a 3 day weekend with Labor Day, then another 4 day week, then the year really gets into the swing of things. Or maybe I'm just getting old because I used to love it as a kid lol.

    I grew up in Alabama and when I went to school - you know, back when dinosaurs roamed the land, we didn't go back until after Labor Day because most of our schools didn't have AC.

    100% @Amy Sessions - Back in my day, after school started the day after Labor Day, all we had to look forward to was Thanksgiving Break (Thu & Fri), Christmas Break (7-10 days max), a week for Spring Break, and getting out of school in the middle of June (especially if we had snow makeup days), hahaha

    Now, many kiddos get the Labor Day weekend, a week for Fall Break, practically a week for Thanksgiving Break, two weeks for Christmas Break, a week for mid-Winter Break, a week for Spring Break, and the Memorial Day weekend before wrapping up the school year a week later.

    I will say though, I'm genuinely happy for the kiddos and thankful for the teachers.

    I just came back from a great-trip with friends. It's monsoon season in my country & everything is lush-green, fresh & wet !!
    My next vacation will be in November end, and I'm very excited for that too !!

    My Genesys certification will be expiring this year, so yeah renewing those is also a personal goal. Feel free to let me know about any offers/discounts, if available.
