Can an existing role like employee can be modified and genesys still pushes changes to it?

I understand that genesys needs to push changes to default roles based on requirement.

Also suggest what would be best practice to modify the change to a standar role. Create a copy and make changes or modify existing?

There is an organization setting that enable / disables the auto update of permissions to the default roles:

https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/automatically-backfill-roles-with-new-permissions/

Edit: Not 100% sure though if this will overwrite changes you have made yourself or not. But I would like to think only the individual permissions that are changed/updated will be updated, rather than resetting to the new default values.

I am afraid in any case if permissions added/modified will be pushed to a modfied standard role.

Hi, 
That's one of the reasons why we copied all the default roles to roles with an extra letter in the name and used them instead of the default roles.
Another benefit is that you always can check how your roles differ from the original default roles.

Hi @Anush Shetty,

As @Anton Vroon share before, there is a setting that enable/disable auto update of permissions. However, we got in an issue with roles permissions, if you select or use on roles permissions options like "Assigns all <bla bla bla> permissions, including any future permissions", when Genesys role out new features you could end having added automatically without notice making you lose control on your environment. If the new feature does not means billing you will safe but if it activate billable features like Agent Copilot, WEM features or whatever, you could ending with a big bill to pay.
