Any number assigned to Work/Work2/3/4 is presumed by PureCloud to be an internal phone number, so if a user calls that phone number from the PureCloud UI the call goes to whatever phone the target user is logged into or their voicemail,
not out to the external phone. The call is kept internal to PureCloud, on the Edge.
Any external calls placed to that number will never touch PureCloud because the telco has no idea that it is set as someone's phone number inside the org...it just routes across the telco network as usual.
