Genesys Cloud - Main

Hello everyone,

How exactly should I configure the SIP Client on Zoiper? I have a sip phone configured on the Edge side, according to Pure Cloud Resource Center (help.mypurecloud.com/articles/configure-generic-sip-phone/) and no clue how to fill the profile on the Zoiper side. Specifically the credentials (user/password) since the template does not seem to include this information.

This setup is very similar to most SIP devices.  What I usually do is make the Numbre de usuario and the numbre de origien as the same name or number.  Then use this in the username/password on the station in Genesys Cloud.  I assume you are using local Edges, so the Proxy will be the IP address of your Edge device.

Hey Robert, sorry to jump on this old thread.  When setting up the SIP phone in Genesys Cloud, and then configuring Zoiper, can you please confirm for me what the user, domain, and phone names should be on both sides?  Any chance you could attach a screenshot of the phone setup in GC and the client setup in Zoiper (blanking out anything you need to for privacy) for me to compare against?

Tried a few ways of interpreting the Resource Centre, and I see the register request hitting the phone trunk on the Edge but getting a 404 back.

That setup was long gone.  Anyway, with standard SIP devices, I like to use straight UDP and not try TLS or SRTP.  Then I usually set the Username, password, and name of the phone all to be the extension.  That eliminates any translations issues.  If it comes up, then you can start using different password or username.  You might need the User/password in Digest Authentication.  Set the registration timeout at 3600 or more.   After that, point the point to http://IPofEdge:5060.  

Check that you assigned default sip phones to the edge LAN interface you are using as well. 

If you don't get it registered, best to look at the PCAP on the Edge and see if you are actually seeing the registration invite and it is the correct protocol.

Now that you know you can register and use that way, you can start by changing the username or password in both the phone and in GC to try to secure it.  It is hit or miss when it comes to the password being passed correctly.  I had better luck just setting a random username.
