"BTPM" I imagine is Beyond Trust? In what way did the policy need to be adjusted?

Please follow-up here if you don't mind. I can't imagine you're the only customer that will face it and it clearly is a change in behavior from the previous installers. We definitely want to mitigate it, but without knowing precisely what it's angry about it's hard to pinpoint. I have a theory but it's just a theory.

All the usual suspects Brian, Defender, Zscaler, Beyond Trust, Trend Micro etc.
We are pusuing it w BeyondTrust support currently . We might be onto the culprit. Thanks

Do you know what kind of policies are on those internal machines that might be in play? I suspect the newer mechanism for prerequisite checks is at the root of this, but it's hard to say so far.

Hi Cameron,
0003799961
A co worker with a personal Windows 11 machine, can download it - install the exe without issue.
Internally in our organizations, Virtual machines, windows 10 , 11 ,, and regular PC W 11 cannot install the EXE from July
Version 2.43.829 – July 7, 2025 New
- Updated to Chromium 137.0.7151.69
- Updated to .NET 4.8
- Fixed a crash when switching between desktop and tablet mode.
- Fixed an issue with authentication involving popup windows.
- Fixed an alignment issue when switching to full-screen mode in a Genesys Cloud video call.
- Fixed an issue with the installer not overwriting some files causing a white screen issue on launch.
Note for administrators using the convenience MSI installer file. The prerequisites for the Genesys Cloud Windows application changed with this update. These prerequisites must be installed before the application is updated. .NET Framework 4.8 and Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable runtime version of at least 14.38.33135 must be installed. These are installed automatically, if necessary, by the EXE installer provided but the MSI file doesn't have this ability.

Hello John,
This is interesting. I would work closely with care then. Can you provide your case number so I can track it internally?
Cheers,

Thanks all,
We have had a case open with logs. still cannot install or update from prior version.
prior release no problem. I used the prior release's EXE file to get to the setup of the install GUI.
Ran the repair - saw the framework update again to 4.5x
The newly released EXE install file from Genesys does not produce a Setup window --- just some clocking icons - and never produces a GUI.
John

Hello John,
I haven't heard of any other cases of this happening on windows 11. I can give you some basic troubleshooting steps but this might require a ticket to the support team if the issue persists.
For new install:
- Run the install as admin
- Ensure you have .NET 4.8 installed (its required for this version)
- Clear any previous temp install files from the %temp% folder
For Update
- Use the repair option from windows programs and features
- If that doesnt work then do a complete uninstall
- clean any leftover files
- perform a fresh install of the new version
If none of this works i'd recommend getting complete install logs, and as stated above opening a case with the support team.
Hope this helps!
