    Description

Currently, all roles with the ability to create or accept emails inherently possess the capability to send outbound emails. We are introducing a new permission, Conversation > Email > Send, that will allow admin to control which role will have Send email capability. To prevent interruption when the new permission GA, existing roles containing either create or send email is backfilled with the new send permission.

The new permission: Conversation > Email > Send

    Change Context

The current default email sending behavior lacks the flexibility required by some customers. Customers would like ability to define their own send email behavior to meet their business need (e.g. email needs review by other party).

    Change Impact

With permission backfilling, customers should feel no impact. However, it is important to understand that this new permission, Conversation > Email > Send, will be required for users to send emails moving forward. Since backfilling occurs prior to GA, customers are encouraged to not remove this new permission from existing role, otherwise their service will be interrupted when we GA the feature.

This important update has been communicated to customers via a Resource Center announcement:
