    Hi, yesterday we started noticing that Architect is throwing an error when 2 tasks in 2 different menus have the same name.
    I think this is expected if the 2 tasks were part of the options of the same menu, however this error should not be displayed if each task is associated with a different menu.
    Actually, flows that are already published and working with tasks with the same name in different menus if we try to edit the name of those tasks but leaving the same same (no changes), now we get the error when validating the flow so this could indicate it's a bug.

    I would assume this is a usability issue.  If you have tasks (or even tools) with the same name, finding them is a challenge, and if you are transferring to a task, seeing that in a drop-down would not allow you to distinguish between the two.  Yes, you as an expert user knows exactly what you have programmed, but the next novice that is asked to change the flow, might see Customer Service in a menu and not know which to choose.  I remember back in my programming days, you can never document enough.  Having Architect point that out to me is not a bug, but a benefit.

    Thank you for you answer.
    For me it's a bug because I didn't get that error before, now I'm getting it. I have several flows with task options with the same name but in different menus and there's no problem.
    On the other hand, this is a very typical case where you have, let's say 10 menus, all of them with different options but one in common which is (0) "Speak with an agent" so should I name each task transferring to an agent with a different name (despite they are in different menus)?

    I confirmed with the Genesys that this is designed behavior and that it really should fail validation on any of the situations, what happened was that a bug was preventing it to have this enforced in Menu tasks, and this bug was recently fixed, causing to experience recently those failures, and along the same lines as Robert, it is never advised to use the exact same task name for different tasks even if they are segregated by menu options as this creates inconsistencies in many scenarios.
