There is no whitepaper, since that is not a supported phone. It would have to be configured as Generic SIP.
Looking at Asterisk forums, folks have a real hard time getting that phone to work with Asterisk, too.
Have you tried using TCP as the protocol for those phones? UDP doesn't seem to work with SIP systems for the 9608.
Make sure you have a Phone Trunk set up for whatever protocol you are using with those phones. I don't know what to tell you for settings on that trunk...I've never tried to get an Avaya phone to work with PureCloud (or PureConnect).

Subject: Avaya Hard Phone Integration using Generic SIP
Hello All,
I am looking to provision a Avaya 9608 phone as a generic SIP handset on the Pure Cloud platform and I am not having any luck. I have used the inbound digest authentication method on pure cloud.
When I try to register my Avaya one-x client i get a 404 when i use the digest user admin and a 403 when i use the handset number as the user. I have used the digest password for both so not sure what password i need to use.
I am looking for some information if this has been done before or if there is a white-paper for the same.
regards
Conrad
