    Hi All,

    Just confirming there's currently no way of controlling access to Data Tables by using roles/divisions?

    I can see that there's no allocation of Division to a Data Table through the Admin GUI interface, and the Roles/Permissions indicate that Architect > datatable are not division aware.

    However I noticed in the API that Data Tables can have a division allocated (https://developer.mypurecloud.com/api/rest/v2/architect/#put-api-v2-flows-datatables--datatableId-)

    Therefore I'm wondering what the Division is used for on a Data Table at this stage if it's set through the API?

    Hi Jeff,
       We are enabling Divisions for Data Tables within Admin UI, and the enablement of API is the process towards it.

    Just to be sure if I interpreted correctly: the Data Table through Admin UI will be accessible based on the division the logged in user belog to.

    Once Divisions are enabled for Data Tables, the User view will be dependent on the role of ACL definition by Division.

    Hi Jeff, Dynamic Contact Center Manager(DCCM) a AppFoundry solution provides granular control for data tables. DCCM can limit the access to a single value within a data table or expose an entire data table by role.

     I am glad to setup a demo. Please let me know.

    Genesys Cloud very nice as cloud contact center service, no doubt about that.

    But for me very interesting to know what the reason to use GC Data Tables with all limitations, rate limits etc?
    Why not to use other powerful cloud storage services with OData API?

    I've compared Data Table with Azure Table Storage. Azure Table Storage has more granular settings for security. Can be easily connected from Genesys Cloud Data Actions, Excel, Tableau or PowerBI.

    Well basically you have to give to the user another tool... This is already a huge cons...
    Then for sure I am agree with you that you gain flexibility but at which price in terms of users experience (they have to move from another GUI)? And what about architecture? You introduce another components to be maintained

    I suppose it depends how you look at things. If you expect a product to have everything included with no need for APIs to build outside a frame and time is of no importance then sure.

    Hi @Warren Beddie Thank you for your comment.
    My expectation, but I think also from Genesys, is to give the Business users as much as they can without big effort from IT. We already use Rest API in Architect but to built external interfaces to overcome limitations, which are possible through API, ​is excessive effort in my opinion
