  • 1.  Emails with Addresses in the To and BCC fields

    Hello,

We have an issue where customers are sending emails using our inbound address in the BCC field and another non-related address in the To field.
When we go to do our routing logic via a data table (to define queues and skills etc.), we can't see the address in the BCC field.
I understand this is a standard protocol for email systems but I somehow need to get around it. We use a data table because there are numerous inbound addresses and we want to save on duplicating flows.

This issue only occurs when there is a To address and a BCC address. If it's BCC only, we see it in the To field.

Has anyone got any smart ideas on how to get around it?

    Thanks!

Hey Will, any luck with this?

I'm guessing if it was too simple it'd defeat the purpose of having BCC there, but I wonder whether something could be done in the Exchange/mail server side in a transport rule or something for this (assuming you're going through something like Exchange first).  Maybe even if all it did was add something into the subject line that you could then use for your data table lookup.
