  • 1.  Enhanced TTS

    Posted 20 days ago

    Hi All,

Does anyone have access to a definitive list of the remaining TTS personas once the deprecation of google/azure voices has been completed?

I'm struggling to find what will remain.

    Thanks

    P

Amazon Polly will be the remaining voicing.  You can still use Google and Azure just need to have the app foundry integration and will have to pay the associated usage for them.

    Hello, @Paul Ruiz Gilmour.

Here's what I've found. After the deprecation of Google and Azure voices (effective date: August 5, 2026), here's what will remain:

    Primary TTS Option:
AWS Amazon Polly Neural Voices will be the only TTS engine natively available through Enhanced TTS. For the complete list of supported languages and voices, you can check Amazon's Neural voices documentation, as Genesys Enhanced TTS uses these voices directly.

    Microsoft Azure Neural Voice Exceptions:
Certain Azure Neural voices will continue to be available beyond the deprecation date. These include voices for the following languages:

    • Afrikaans: af-ZA-AdriNeural, af-ZA-WillemNeural
    • Arabic (Egypt): ar-EG-SalmaNeural, ar-EG-ShakirNeural
    • Arabic (Saudi Arabia): ar-SA-HamedNeural, ar-SA-ZariyahNeural
    • Basque: eu-ES-AinhoaNeural, eu-ES-AnderNeural

Thanks for the list.  My issue is that there will be no multilingual voices available with the Enhanced or the Generative TTS voices initially.  Guess I'll have to use Microsoft or Google as 3rd-party still.

The following idea is in development at the moment: Add AWS Polly Generative AI Voices to | Genesys Cloud Ideas Portal
Only thing is that it is planned (according to roadmap) to be finished end September 2026.
So it coming but not on the date all others are deprecated.

    Hi Paul,

I couldn't find a definitive list of the remaining TTS personas, but I hope the links below help as they provide the latest information on the deprecation and migration path.

Hopefully someone from Genesys can confirm whether a consolidated list of the remaining personas is available.

    Hi Paul,

    It's good to see you!

To expand on what @Arthur Pereira Reinoldes has mentioned:

Primarily, the remaining native voices will be Amazon Polly Neural voices. The Microsoft Azure Neural Voice exceptions are listed in the Genesys deprecation announcement: https://help.genesys.cloud/announcements/genesys-cloud/deprecation-genesys-enhanced-tts-microsoft-azure-and-google-voices/

If you're looking for the Amazon Polly voices that will be available, AWS maintains the list of their Neural voices here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/polly/latest/dg/neural-voices.html

    Hi @Paul Ruiz Gilmour

You can also check Admin > Architect > Text-to-Speech in your organization after the migration. The personas listed there should reflect the voices currently available in your environment.

For reference, here are the official Genesys resources:

    Deprecation announcement:
    https://help.genesys.cloud/announcements/deprecation-genesys-enhanced-tts-microsoft-azure-and-google-voices/

    Amazon Polly migration guide:
    https://help.genesys.cloud/articles/migrate-to-enhanced-tts-offering-from-amazon-polly/

It would be useful if Genesys could publish a consolidated list of the remaining personas by language and region after the migration.

    Paul,

One practical way to close the gap here is to treat this less as a "persona list" problem and more as a source-of-truth alignment issue.

Post-migration, Genesys isn't really curating personas anymore but effectively exposing upstream providers (Polly + limited Azure exceptions).
    So the view here is:

    • Polly → AWS docs (authoritative + evolving)
    • Azure exceptions → Genesys announcement
    • Tenant reality → Architect TTS dropdown (actual enabled set)

In design terms, this means we should probably validate personas at runtime (per org/region) instead of relying on static lists (especially if voice availability or naming changes upstream.)

Then, there's multilingual gap, which may force hybrid designs (native Polly + external TTS) until Generative voices land.

    Thanks

Genesys will still have the Enhanced TTS SKU, but it will only include AWS Polly Neural voices, with a few MS/Google voices for languages not yet supported, billed at $20/million characters. There is a new SKU called Genesys Generative TTS Voices that will use the new AWS Polly Generative voices, which is due out in Q3 26. Pricing is not yet available, but I am guessing $35/million characters. Now, if you use the AWS Polly TTS integration, you can still access the standard voices at $4/million, the Neural voices at $16/million, and the generative voices at $30/million. You have to be careful with that, though.  If you use Genesys Enhanced TTS, they do not charge for any characters in Bot Flows, Virtual Agents, AVA, or Survey Flows.    If you are mainly using TTS in Architect Inbound Flows, you will be charged by Genesys or your TTS vendor.   Genesys now also supports 3rd parties such as ElevenLabs, Acapela, DeepGram, and others.
