  • 1.  Get participant does not obtain data when moving from a Message Flow to a Common Flow.

    Posted 12-15-2025 15:14

I start the interaction in an Inbound Message Flow, in a task I add values to a list of participant data, exit the task, and the interaction moves to a Common Flow. When I try to obtain the same participant data using Get Participant Data, no data is returned.
This happens randomly in some interactions.
    What could be the problem?
Is there a lack of synchronization?

    Good Day Manual

Just to confirm, this does not happen with every single interaction, correct?

I found the following 2 discussions on the community where similar issues where discussed.

    https://community.genesys.com/discussion/participant-data-not-updating-when-transferring-to-a-new-flow#:~:text=Indupally%2C%20and%20welcome.-,To%20get%20participant%20data%20to%20pass%20across.,%2D%2D%2D%2D%2D%2D%2D

    https://community.genesys.com/discussion/get-participant-data-not-retrieving-info-in-dialog-bot-flow-1#:~:text=Hi%20everyone%2C-,I've%20recently%20started%20encountering%20an%20issue%20with%20the%20%22Get,Info%20in%20Dialog%20Bot%20Flow

Its possible that there is perhaps a delay where the writing data is not yet available when trying to retrieve.  Have you perhaps tried adding a short delay before the "get participant data" in the common flow to see if that helps?

    Regards

    Stephan

I would suggest using in and out parameter to the common flow. In the Common flow mark the variable as inbound and outbound and use this between message flow and common flow

    Hin Manuel,

if you have execution history in architect activated you could check the end time of your first flow end the start time of your second flow for a affected interaction. Participant data will be changed at the end of a flow execution. If for some reason your second flow starts before the end of the first one this could explain your problems.
