Currently, retaking the certification means taking the regular certification again, but since you got certified a couple years ago, I'd recommend re-visiting the documention if you have the chance.
In Webassessor, there's currently one Exam that's free to take (the Scripting Practice exam). The GCP-Prep exam is currently offered as part of the GCP-Prep Workshop, but there are plans to make it free in the future (no ETA at this time).
As Camila said, taking the certifications would require a voucher or a Technical Subscription (which includes a voucher for each certification available). If you're a member of the Orchestrators Portal, you can earn points and exchange them for individual vouchers of even for a Technical Subscription.

Certification expires every two years, so the closer to expiration you do it, the better.
You have to contact Genesys to get the voucher; as far as I know, you need to purchase a new voucher, it are not generated automatically.
