  • 1.  How to disable Intent/Slot confirmation in Bot?

    Hi all,

    I'm looking for a way to disable bot Confirmation.

    In 'User Input' settings of bot flow there are Thresholds which I can configure: 'Normal low' and 'Normal high', my understanding is that:

    • if confidence below 'Normal low' - that's no match
    • if confidence above 'Normal high' - that's exact match, no confirmation required
    • if confidence between 'Normal low' and 'Normal high' - confirmation is offered.

    I thought to disable confirmation I need to set 'Normal low' and 'Normal high' to have exact same value, but system doesn't let me do that and give warning 'Collection Low confidence must be lower than or equal to the Collection High confidence.'.

    The warning itself says that numbers could be equal, but doesn't let me set that. Any ideas of how to configure it correctly?

    I'm looking for the exact same thing as you. As far as I can tell, there isn't a way to do this at the moment. I believe the red warning above is also an error - normal high forces you to set a higher value than normal low

    Hello Vitailii, 

    To answer your question, Is there a way to disable bot confirmation? The answer is kind of under "Maximum Number of Confirmation Rejections" you can set the minimum value to 0. Please see the screen shot. Otherwise there is no way to do this. 

    As for what David stated, I agree I believe the red is a warning but I am looking into this as well.

    Hi Cameron,

    I just tried to set max number of confirmation to 0 just like you recommended, but still got confirmation question  on low confidence. 0 confirmation rejections means that if caller rejects confirmation - they not gonna get retry in the menu and move forward with MaxReties from bot.

    What I did - I set min confidence (Normal low) to 19, Normal High to 20 ( so person might get confirmation only if they get Confidence 19. And also set the Intent confirmation question to 100 ms of silence - so even if caller get the confirmation with 19% confidence they most likely fail it because don't hear the confirmation.

    This way caller will hear silence for 100 ms (blank confirmation) + Voice No Input timeout time.

    The way to accomplish this is by forcing the "Normal Low" and "Normal High" values to be the same.  The UI will not allow this when the values are set to Literal, but switch to an expression (which cannot be checked for Validation) and use a value such as toInt("20") or even a flow variable of type Int.  Before making this change, test an utterance and examine the Optimization Dashboard - Utterance History - Detail....  you'll see built in confidence checks in the Action/Outcome.  Make the change and duplicate the test, you'll see that it now skips those built-in confidence checks (which can shave seconds off your caller's silence experienced after end-of-voice-input timeout).
