  • 1.  Inability to view Media Tier version of Cloud Based Edges

    Posted 23 days ago

    Hi all,

Just curious if anyone else has noticed this and has determined it is an enhancement?

We noticed this week in our FedRAMP Org that we can no longer view our Cloud based Edge devices. Now in the past, you couldn't really do anything with them, but we could/would check our Edges often to confirm how many Edges we had assigned to our Org and which Media Tier version they were running. We paid close attention when a new Media Tier version would be release to track when they got upgraded and if we noticed any performance issues.

We feel like we now have no easy way to check these few items. Curious as to any others feedback.

Has anyone else noticed this and does it seem like an improvement / enhancement? It sort of feels like we lost some visibility and quick way to sanity check the edges to some extent.

It appears this change occurred last week per the FedRAMP release notes: https://help.genesys.cloud/408985/#byoc-premises-edge-devices-in-edges-list-view

    Thanks all!

I too have just noticed this when trying to investigate the what version our cloud edge was on. Is there a way planned to see when our edge(s) were updated?

    Hi both,

As per the 19th January release notes this feature was removed to only show Physical Edge devices. This is due to Cloud Media really being more complex than what is displayed and cases raised for increased that are not relevant.

Administrators can now view only BYOC Premises Edge devices in the Digital and Telephony > Telephony > Premises Edges > Edges list view. Cloud media instances no longer appear in this view, which helps administrators focus on relevant edge devices specific to their environment. This update also introduces visibility into concurrent call capacity and calls per-second limits for each organization, providing clearer insight into telephony performance and capacity. This enhancement helps administrators manage their telephony configuration more effectively and with greater confidence.

Hi Richard, we have a support ticket open with our reseller, but we don't see any of those utilization statistics for "concurrent call capacity" and "calls per-second" in our organization in usw2 instance of cloud. Is it only displayed under certain special conditions? Or am I looking in the wrong place?

    Hi James,

You need the permissions noted in the link below then go to Digital and Telephony>Telephony>Cloud Media or search.  The CPS does not appear to be shown yet.
