    Hi all,
    we have implemented Cloud  BYOC, Edges on prem, with integration into Alcatel.
    1. Manged to get inbound calls from Alcatel (Carrier) to Cloud with both way audio.
    2. Manged to get outbound calls from Cloud via Alcatel working with both way audio
    the current issue we are faced with is inter extension dialing:
    1. able to dial Alcatel extensions from Cloud
    2. able to dial Cloud extensions from Alcatel
    issue with extension dialing is that we are getting one-way audio, Alcatel user can hear the Cloud user but Cloud user cannot hear the Alcatel user.

    we have configured the Firewall with all required ports and config.

    please advise if you are able to assist?

    If I had to take a guess, your Alcatel has media servers handling the voice.  That means you probably need to include those IP's in the access list on the trunk settings in the Edge.

    i have added all the PBX IP's on the trunk and tried enabled allow all, still same results

    You can enable the media capture for your trunk or Edge group. The HPAACAP that is generated can be converted to a PCAP file to open it in Wireshark. This will allow you to isolate the issue. If you are not receiving any RTP packets from the Alcatel solution you can look futher into the Alcatel platform and see if it's even sending any RTP packets. If so, the issue seems to be on the network.

    You might also want to check the Codecs being used by Alcatel and GC.  Incompatible codecs could also contribute to one-way audio.

    thanks, Alcatel guys forced trunk from there side to use G711, but same results, is there any link or already configuration of a Alcatel Trunk for me to reference?

    Hi Reginald,

    So I supposed that you also have G.711 on your Edge since Alcatel Engineers forced it to that codec.  Just to share, Alcatel can have a different codec for their IP Phones and SIP Trunks.  Hope both have the same codecs (G.711).

    Hi Reginald,

    Ok, thanks for sharing.  Hope its not much to ask of your Alcatel Engineers, maybe they can run a motortrace on the OXE while making a call where one-way audio is experienced.  That way we can see where the problem is.  Hope it helps.
