  • 1.  Is Genesys Cloud dependable?

    I'm just new to Genesys cloud and learning.

    I noticed it seems quite buggy in the Admin screen and wondering if this is normal?
    The problems I've had so far are that:

    1. All the items don't load in the admin screen. I spent a couple of days researching why People and Permissions were not appearing, only to find that the solution was to just keep refreshing the browser and eventually things start working.
    2. No users show up under People, but I know they are there. I spent about a week unable to progress in training because of this. Then today, they magically appear.

    On my side I have a fast connection and plenty of bandwidth and it's only the Genesys stuff that is presenting issues with content not loading correctly, which pretty well makes it unusable from an admin standpoint. It seems to me that the cloud, while a nice concept, is maybe not a dependable and mature solution at this time.

    Am I wrong?

    Yes, I have experienced releases of Admin where I've questioned if anyone did any QA on them before general release. Thinking over the past five years, I would say it definitely is an exception and not the rule.  Run your browser Console and Networking open to watch what the issues might be there.  If in doubt, blow your browser cache away and try again. I have a cache clear with one click Chrome extension purely for that.  My cache has been corrupted when there were MPLS issues, and the clearing works like a charm.

    Not a full answer, but some ideas for you to try.

    I get the blank People list currently, it seems to come and go. 
    But the Admin page never has consistent issues, sounds like a local issue if anything.

    I notice when I get the blank page for the people list, that there is this error in the background.

    Messing around with the browser did not fix it and I even tried different browsers with the same result. 

    Then suddenly the error goes away on it's own and all the time there were no changes to my account/role.

    It seems to me if there is a permissions error coming from the website, that the Admin should pop some message instead of silently failing, but moreover it makes me feel the cause is on the Genesys side. I could be wrong however. It all seems to be working now except that now I have to sometimes do a couple of refreshes before things will complete loading.

    HI David, two questions:

    Are you viewing the People list through an authorised org as a partner?

    If you go to the Admin page, do you notice frequently that not all sections load together but that some load and then after a delay others load?

    Another thing I notice occasionally - but not for a while now - with the People view is sometimes it does a weird "refresh" and the profile you select changes to another one, so you think you're editing one user but the UI has actually loaded another one.  It's been a while since it did that so I can't recall the exact pattern now.

    All of these seem to be tied to lag somewhere in the path though - although there are some known defects with switching between a customer org and home org as a partner.
