I do see user presentation of secondary values as being a good option
Consider the way our current status options display below.

New Hire Traiing
Compared to a proposed setup page shown below that has 3 primary status (plus offline).
On Queue is always available, and cannot be deselected from the list.
Off Queue and Not Available, if they have no sub status are always ticked and available.
If they have a sub status then they can be ticked which would group the sub status under that primary status, or unticked which would show the substatus under it ungrouped
Substatus can also be used to group other substatus (maybe set a limit of 2 or 3 deep)

Which whould present to users as below.
On Queue shows as an option in the presented list but can also be selected or deselected from the button in the top right as it is now.
Also consider the following, where the onqueue switch is at the top right, to the right of the switch it shows 'On Queue' or 'Off Queue'. Consider when off queue, having the actual status show here so user has an immediate knowlege of their actial status.
If the user clicked 'Training' it would offer the options of 'Assigned Training' or 'New Hire Training' to the user.

Of course this is the way it presents in the interface and does not fully take into account how this may impact the backend as far as scheduling and reports may be impacted.

Once you create a secondary status under a primary, agents can no longer select the primary status itself - the interface forces one to select one of the secondary statuses under the primary.
Does that make a difference from your perspective?

Hi @George Ganahl - Our issue is that two statuses with the exact same name (even if one is on a secondary branch, opens the door for too many agent selection mistakes.

That is the problem. I wanted to use "Training" as on of the secondary statuses until that Primary status but I can't have a secondary status with the same name as the primary.

Yep...so most folks just create a Secondary Status and switch the Status column in the Queue Activity Detail performance view to show them...or enable the Secondary Status column in other views where available.

Hi! Are we able to edit the names of the primary Statuses? Example: "Training" is a primary Status group. Are we able to adjust that to "L&D" or is the text from the primary Status names hardcoded?
