Certification and Training

Hi everyone,

I'm preparing for the Genesys Cloud: Professional Certification and would appreciate hearing from people who have already passed the exam.

So far, I have completed the following training using the self-study option:

• Implementation
• Contact Center Administration
• Reporting and Analytics

For those who have passed:

1. Did you find the instructor-led versions of these courses significantly more valuable than self-study?
2. Did you attend the Certification Preparation for the Professional Certification Exam workshop, and if so, did it help a lot?
3. If you could do it again, what would you focus on most before taking the exam?
4. How useful was the practice exam in comparison to the actual certification exam?

The next certification preparation workshop that works with my schedule is over two months away, so I'm trying to decide whether it's worth waiting or whether I should take the exam while it's fresh in my memory.

Any advice, study tips, or lessons learned would be greatly appreciated.

I completed the certification using the self-study path only and found it sufficient to pass the exam. My approach was to work through all the learning modules, take plenty of notes, and then spend time reviewing the practice questions and understanding why each answer was correct rather than just memorising them.

I didn't attend the Certification Preparation workshop, so I can't comment on its value. Personally, if the content is still fresh in your mind, I'd be inclined to take the exam rather than wait another two months.

I found the practice exam helpful for identifying areas that needed more revision, but I also made sure I had a solid understanding of the concepts covered in the learning modules, as the actual exam tests your understanding of how the platform works rather than simple recall.

I had a similar experience. I also prepared using only the self-study learning paths and didn't attend the instructor-led courses or the certification preparation workshop.

My recommendation is to complete the self-study path and then practice using the Practice Exam available in Webassessor. You can access it here:

After logging in, just look for "Genesys Cloud: Certified Professional - Practice Exam" (it's free), as shown below.

Based on my experience, if you work with Genesys Cloud on a daily basis and are familiar with the interface, the self-study path plus the practice exam should be enough to prepare for the certification. The instructor-led training is still valuable, especially if you don't use Genesys regularly or are new to the platform, but I don't think it's a requirement to pass the exam.
