I'm looking for insight from the community on the behaviour of Poly devices. I have a client that would like to use the Poly VVX450 devices in standalone mode and have them part of a back office group. The use case is that they want groups that are made up of a mix of named users and phone devices that are not assigned to any specific user. They want customers to be able to dial the group DDI and have the broadcast feature ring both phones and any user currently logged in and available. I'm aware that we cannot add phones or extensions to groups, only user profiles, but I'd like to understand if the group would route calls to an offline member (i.e. a dummy profile with the physical device assigned to it) if the Poly base settings has standalone features enabled?

I'm suspecting not but wanted to know if the community can think of any way to make this possible.

    I appreciate the feedback.

Try creating users for those phones and set the default phone on each one for the unattended phones.  You will need to log in to that user once and set user to available.

From what we have seen, even if the user is not logged in, it will ring the user's default phone when ringing the group.  Don't turn on forwarding on that user.  Give it a try.
