    Hello,

    how does one go about comparing the roles and permissions on different environments? 

    We have a development, staging and production environment and again and again we run into a problem where "admin" has different divisions and permissions assigned in the staging environment compared to the production environment. Telling people to keep it things organized does not work. I would like to have something like an easy export for all the roles and permissions for a particular user so that I could compare it. Even in Excel. Is there anything like this?

    Hello Amit,

    There isn't currently a way to export the permissions but there is an Idea on the Genesys Cloud Product Ideas Lab: Export list of permissions and which roles currently have each permission which has been merged into idea: View Roles by Permission.

    I would recommend voting on the idea and adding your use case

    Hi Amit, I had the same demand and build myself a comparison in Power BI within one stage using Power Query. If you are not familiar with Power BI as such, Power Query is also part of Excel. I used it to unfold the JSON structure of the API Explorer output. Extending it to compare across two exports shouldn't be much of an extension of the logic.

    If this could be an option, just let me know - I am happy to share my approach in more detail, if it helps.

    Hi James, I am happy to share this. I'd like to first wait for the new permissions (new UI) to hit our org before I run another update. What exactly are you looking for? Compare orgs, roles or review licenses? These were the use cases I had so far.

    I would like to export all the roles, etc, so that I have a way to analyze it and ensure that we do not have something unusual. Can you please share with us how to export it using PowerBI or another tool?
