  • 1.  Securing the Wallboard Environment

    Hi All -

    Our Customer recently migrated to GCX from Cisco where they used a Wallboard solution using AppSpace and BrightSign Players.

    In summary, the AppSpace application runs on a 'host' and streams the Wallboard feeds ('permalink') to individual players which then connect to the wall-mount display. The Players have no KVM capability and the AppSpace host is physically secured.

    AppSpace are not listed on AppFoundry, and do not support SSO; the Customer has identified the 'Display5' solution, but this may have similar limitations.

    So requirements are:

    • SSO support (alternatively, the solution does not authenticate to / use a Genesys login ... API, OAuth?)
    • physical security of wallboard driver
    • flexible wallboard layout (incl. ticker feed)
    • full-screen display
    • scrolling / alternating display

    Any suggestions / recommendations for a suitable solution?

    The customer would prefer to stay with AppSpace, but not sure if that's viable.

    Hi Malcolm,

    I would first look at the dashboard to see if they could mimic what you are doing in AppSpace.

    As for your other requirements:

    • SSO support (alternatively, the solution does not authenticate to / use a Genesys login ... API, OAuth?)   
      Not, this would be Oauth, not SSO
    • physical security of wallboard driver
      This would be based on the Oauth and mTLS if requred
    • flexible wallboard layout (incl. ticker feed)
      Up to AppSpace, but I would suggest they look at the Notification Webhooks to accomplish this on their side
    • full-screen display
      Again, look at the Dashboards in Genesys Cloud and Notifications API
    • scrolling / alternating display
      This is something Genesy is working on with the Dashboards.
