  • 1.  SMS Opt Out - From Ani

    Good afternoon,

    I am looking to store 'SMS opt out's' in a data table.

    I've designed the inbound message flow to check if the message contains the word "STOP" or "CANCEL" or UNSUBSCRIBE" and I want to use a data action in the same inbound message flow to retrieve the SMS sender's ANI and then use an update data action to add that to a 'SMS opt out data table'.

    As we use the agentless sms to send web survey links after certain calls. This means that there isn't an active SMS interaction open within Genesys. Therefore, when someone types back the word STOP, no message interaction is actually created, therefore I don't see a way of obtaining a conversationId to then pull the ANI from.

    The intention was to add the ANI of users who have sent STOP back to a data table, then cross reference that data table with our survey invite flow to check if anyone on there has opt'd out and therefore no further surveys be sent by SMS.

    Does anyone know of a different workaround or another way of pulling the ANI from an sms?
