  • 1.  SMTP Integration shows an error

When I look at Admin > Integrations > Integrations and click on our custom SMTP integration it shows an Error (see screenshot 1) that reads "SMTP server connection failed with message there was a problem with getting a SSL socket to the integration".

If I go to Admin > Contact Center > Email and select the Domain then click the "Test SMTP configuration" it shows "Configuration Success" (see screenshot 2).

Email is flowing in and out ok but I would like to know what the error that shows on the integration page is, and how to fix it.

Are you sure Email is being sent out through to this SMTP server?  The integration is for outbound Email, not inbound (at least at this point).  Also, there are specific IP addresses in each region for this and if your SMTP server does no accept all of them, the socket will not be connected.  Check the authorization credentials as well.

It seems the error was from some time ago and did not go away, disabling and then enabling the integration removed the error message and so far, it has not come back.

We still have a random problem with some autoreply emails sent during the inbound email flow timing out or something, but I think that is related to the load balancer on the email servers rather than Genesys but I wanted to be sure it was not Genesys before pursuing that with the local email team.
