  • 1.  Spectralink wireless phones

    Hello,

    For our customers, we provided SIP wireless phones from Spectralink SL8440. The only settings that worked was with TLS 1.0. TCP was not possible because NAT far-end.

    It worked until the last Edge version, even if the Edges never pushed phone firmware updates. Now, TLS 1.0 is not accepted, so phones cannot register. A newer firmware should certainly solved the issue.

    I'm trying to work with support, I'm searching a firmware.

    Spectralink has been integrated into Polycom, and then Polycom has been integrated into HP. But I can't find firmware with public availability for SL8440.

    Anyone else has also this problem ? Do you have a firmware more recent than 6.0.0.2193 13-Dec-18 ?

    From what I found here: 84-Series-Datasheet_LTR_final_Aug-22.pdf (spectralink.com), it shows that the 84 series does support 1.2.  I am guessing the latest firmware does that.  You will need a login to Poly to download the firmware.  You can try here: Login (spectralink.com)

    Hello Robert,

    I've found a solution I'll detail.

    Starting from release 7, Spectralink phones are compatible with TLS 1.2.

    Why Genesys Cloud never push the firmware for this kind of phones ?

    We bought phones from a reseller without maintenance contract, we did expect Genesys to provide the firmware compatible with the solution.

    Anyway, I've send an email to technicalsupport@spectralink.com , and by luck, they provide the 7.5.1 firmware and also helped us to upgrade the phones. They saved us, a precious help.

    I hope this can help other Genesys partners in the same situation.
