  • 1.  Speech and Text Events Panel

    Posted 3 days ago

In the past, I used to be able to view the events panel on the right hand side of the screen.  This would show the positive and negative phrases as well as the topic phrases.
However, we recently turned off our AI and it seems I lost the events panel also.  Does anyone know the correct permissions to view the events panel but not utilize AI?  thank you!

Hi Stephanie , Please, check if it can help .

The Events panel (the one that shows positive phrases, negative phrases, and topic phrase matches) doesn't depend on the advanced AI features in Genesys Cloud, but it does rely on Speech & Text Analytics (STA) being enabled and on the user having the correct permissions. When an organization "turns off AI," what often happens is that transcription or STA gets disabled as part of the process, and that makes the Events panel disappear even though the rest of the interface still works.

To restore the Events panel, there are two things to check. First, make sure Speech & Text Analytics is still active in the org. If transcription is disabled or there are no active programs, the panel simply won't appear. Second, confirm that the user still has the permissions required to view transcripts and phrase matches. These permissions don't enable any advanced AI functionality, but they are necessary for the Events panel to load the underlying data.

If STA is enabled and the user has the proper view permissions, the Events panel will show up again even without using any AI capabilities. Otherwise, Genesys hides the panel because there is no transcription or phrase-level analysis to display.

    Required permissions (minimum and recommended)

    Minimum required

    • speechandtextanalytics:transcription:view

    • speechandtextanalytics:phrases:view

    • conversation:transcript:view

    Great, thank you!
I can now see the event tab, but the AI insights tab is also back.   What permission would remove the AI insight side but keep the events tab?

The AI Insights tab, is triggered whenever the user has any permission connected to AI-based features such as Predictive Engagement, Agent Assist, or the advanced Sentiment & Intent capabilities.

If the goal is to keep the Events tab visible while removing the AI Insights tab, the solution is to keep only the STA-related permissions and remove any permissions associated with AI, Predictive, Agent Assist, or Journey features. STA on its own does not enable the AI Insights panel; what activates it is the presence of broader AI permissions.

In practice, the AI Insights tab appears whenever the user has permissions like agentassist:*, workspace:assistant:*, or ruff:* (related to Agent Assist), as well as the Journey and Predictive Engagement permissions such as journey:*, predictiveengagement:*, webdeployments:*, or anything in the analytics:predictive* group. It can also be triggered by advanced AI modules, including permissions under ai:* or even speechandtextanalytics:settings:*, which sometimes expose higher-level AI features. If Knowledge AI is enabled in the organization, permissions like knowledge:* and learning:* will also make the AI Insights tab visible.

By removing those AI-related permissions and keeping only the STA and transcription view permissions, the Events tab remains available while the AI Insights tab disappears.
