  • 1.  Support for the new HTTP QUERY method (RFC 10008)?

    Hi everyone,

    I have a question for the Genesys Cloud API team and the community.

    With the publication of RFC 10008, HTTP now officially defines the QUERY method that allows a request body. 

    Genesys Cloud is a great example of this design pattern, because we use POST for analytics queries.  We all know that these APIs were designed according to the HTTP standards available at the time.

    Now that the QUERY method has become part of the HTTP standard is support for on the Genesys Cloud roadmap or under consideration?

    I completely appreciate that introducing support for a new HTTP method across a Genesys Cloud platform is a significant effort and it isn't a trivial enhancement.

    Is this something that API team is tracking and whether it may become part of the API roadmap.

    Hello,

    I have asked the Public/Platform API team.
    There are no plans at this time for this new method. But they are going to track it with Product Management and will look/evaluate it in the future. So no timelines yet.

    Hi Jerome,

    Thank you for checking with the API team and for the update. At least the Product Management team will look at the evolution of the Query method and maybe include it on the roadmap.

    It will be interesting to see whether Hyrum's Law or the evolution of the HTTP standard prevails in the long run. Time will tell.
