  • 1.  VTO - Are you using Gen for this?

Are any of you using Time-Off plans for VTO? We are exploring using Gen for VTO, not automated since it appears you can only have one-time off limit that everything applies to, but more of as a list we can manually approve.

What I am trying to confirm is this: If I want VTO to be allowed same day, the rule that applies for Submission Time Constraint - applied at the MU level - will apply for all time-off plans, correct? For example I do not want to offer same-day PTO. But If I want same-day VTO, as I can only find the one rule, it would have to apply to both VTO and PTO?

Anyone doing this a different way in Gen?

    Hi Shannon,

You are correct the Submission Time Constraint is applied at the MU level and will apply to all time-off plans. What I will discuss with our team is moving this constraint out of the MU and placing it under the Time Off Plan. This way any activity code assigned in the given Time Off Plan can have the Submission Time Constraint. This is still in early discussions, but I think will solve your VTO issue and help with other ideas that I've seen on this topic. For now, I believe that supervisors/schedulers will need to place the time-off request on behalf of the agents.

I hope this helps. Thank you for submitting your question. Anyone else, if you have a creative solution to this, please feel free to add it. Love these ideas :)
