    Hi,

    Need  more details about this announcement received this week.

    It is said that WebRTC will be deprecated and websockets will be replacing it.

    Can somebody provide specific and detailed information about this and about the customers' impact apart than the one available at the PureCloud Resource Center.

    May be this is an interesting subject to be taken into account in one of the forthcoming PureCloud Community Q&A Shows to inform the PureCloud Community.

    But I meant to have specific detailed information as this article published in the resource center is not enough.

    For example:

    What is the impact for customers not accessing to internet through a proxy?

    Will they be still able to use websocket connection and continue using the web based desktop and phone?

    Waiting to have more information urgently from Genesys about all this.

    In addition, will we able to use screen recording functionality from PureCloud Desktop if the agents use WebRTC stations as a default or effective stations for manage interactions after perform the suggested configuration changes you described in this reference?

    We rely on the screen recording feature of the PureCloud desktop client.

    I don't believe we need to change anything but we've had unexpected issues due to networking configuration settings in the past.

    Is there a way for us to confirm that screen recording still works in our environment before the removal date?

    I'm not sure the deprecation is being understood properly.

    WebRTC is not changing or going away.

    An ancillary service that helped with the use of a proxy is what is being deprecated.

    The effect is that anyone not using a proxy will see no difference in behavior or configuration.

    The difference for those who are using a proxy is that you will now have to specifically configure it, because the service that was unreliably providing connections to the proxy is now deprecated. The directions on how to do that configuration are listed in the link William provided above.
