Hi. I have read numerous forum discussions on how to block a caller but none of the answers have helped me. I started a Data Table Lookup (I think..) and I see in architect that I can pull the data lookup table but that's as far as I know to go. Would someone be very kind to walk be through the setup, in layman's term :)

    Hi Ly,

I know how you feel. There are some posts out there, but sometimes it seems to be talking over your head if you aren't completely familiar with some of the capabilities and components.

    • Create a Data Table
      • Reference Key: "Phone Number" (example, you can label it however you want
    • Save, go into your data table, and create an entry by clicking on the + button on the top/right.
    • Make sure that your phone numbers are formatted as such: +1##########
    • Go to Architect and create an "Update Data" task to pull the ANI (caller's tel. number)
      • Name the Variable (Ex., Flow.PullANI)
      • Assign the value: ToPhoneNumber(Call.ANI).e164
        • This converts the number from the system into a phone number following the +1 ### ### #### format
    • Create a Data Table Lookup task
      • Name the Task
      • Refer to your Data Table
      • Input: Flow.PullANI (the variable you created in the Update Data task)
      • Create your routing:
        • If Found - disconnect? Play Audio than disconnect? ...create the action
        • If Not Found - route to appropriate party/queue/person/etc.
    I hope this helps

Wow. So kind of you!! Thank you for taking the time to write that up.

    a few questions:
    - When I create the Data Table in Purecloud, what should I select as Custom Fields? Is it an Integer, Boolen, Decimal or String. I'm thinking one of the first two.. If it's integer, what is the Field Label and Default Value?

I replied to your email, but for others to follow along: string. It would need to be a string since we're adding + to the phone numbers.
