Clarification needed for HRIS integration - Multiple Genesys activity codes (Time Off) mapping capability with one HR Absence code (HR platform-SAP Success Factor)

    We are designing the integration between Genesys WFM and SAP Success Factor HR platform, so that we have synced up time off codes between the two systems.
    To do this, we are mapping the time off codes between the two systems and found that it would be operationally best to able to map multiple Genesys time off codes with 1 on SAP Success Factor code (instead of one to one mapping). Wondering if doing so is possible through HRIS integration or if there are any workarounds to this?

    It is possible to map a single time-off type from the HR platform (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors) to multiple Genesys Cloud time-off activity codes. This is typically managed through the Genesys time-off plans, which serve as the bridge between the HRIS code and the WFM activity codes.
    Depending on your needs, you can:
    • Use a single time-off plan configured with the SAP code and associate it with multiple Genesys activity codes.
    • Or use multiple time-off plans, each mapped to a different Genesys activity code(s), but all sharing the same SAP time-off type code.

    Keep in mind that when the same SAP time-off type is used, all associated Genesys activity codes will contribute to the same time-off balance for the agent.

    Also, if you're using a single SAP time-off type and don't anticipate changes, you can hardcode the SAP code in the workflow, rather than retrieving it dynamically from the HRIS.

    Hi Vidas, thanks for your response. Just to clarify, does this mean we can create a single activity plan for multiple time-off types and configure it with a defined SAP code within the plan using HRIS integration?

    Yes - in Genesys Cloud, you can create a time-off plan that includes multiple time-off activity codes, and within that plan, you can specify a single HRIS time-off type code (such as one from SAP SuccessFactors). This HRIS code is then used by the integration when communicating time-off requests to SAP.
    So, to clarify:
    • Time-off plans are the correct configuration entity (not "activity plans").
    • Within a single time-off plan, you can:
        • Include multiple Genesys time-off activity codes (e.g., vacation, sick leave, personal day).
        • Associate the entire plan with one SAP time-off type code.
    • This means that any time-off request made with any of those activity codes will be mapped to the same SAP code during integration - which works well when those codes share the same balance in SAP.
