Hello, we are using Digital bot "Ask for slot" for selecting the language, and we don't want to present any question or txt to customer. We are seeing if we don't enter any txt in the question field of "Ask for slot" action, the messenger/bot is showing "?" mark automatically. 

1. Is there a way to avoid this "?" mark ?
2. Is there any other way to - ask for different language/buttons, without having to present any txt/question to customer ?

Have you checked to make sure that your latest version has been published? If you have not done so already, I would recommend you using Historical Execution to check to see why that text field is being populated with ?.

Hello Jason, yes we have verified that it's the latest version of the flow that is published. We have also enabled the Historical Execution for the flow, here are the screenshots:

"Ask for Slot - To Participant" shows blank/nothing (yet it shows "?" on the messenger)

We ran into the same issue and never found a workaround. I tried using NOT_SET directly or a variable with a NOT_SET value and nothing worked. It seems the underlying code places a "?" string for any blank values.
